Plans have changed for this Saturday. We are not working on a "Brush with Kindness" job.
Central Oklahoma Habitat for Humanity has partnered with a group of Kennel Clubs and Humane Societies to build and distribute doghouses to low income families. They want to build 75 doghouses on May 2, 2009. We need a group to paint sheets of plywood and start cutting pieces in advance. I’m of the opinion that we should also build jigs so that we can pre-assemble some of the pieces.
A part of the group can build framing components. We are framing 7 houses in the next 4 weeks and we’ll need lots of corners, wall ties, door frames and window frames.
We will be at the warehouse (1017 SE 26th Street, OKC).

- April 18th, 2009 (9am-4pm): ShareFest/Brush With Kindness/Habitat for Humanity.
Hello CRBC volunteers for God,
We are coming up on the third Saturday of the month in a few weeks. This is a special Saturday as it is also a Sharefest http://www.sharefestokc.org/ work day. We will have new volunteers joining us as part of the Sharefest project. Kathy Boeckman is the team lead for CRBC Sharefest Crew. Together we will be doing another Brush of Kindness project with Erich. The address is 6121 S.E. 8th and the hours are 9-4. I have included a link for a map below. From past experience with the remodel jobs it really helps to bring your own tools if you have any. Gloves are also recommended. I hope to see everyone there for another hammer swinging good time.

03-21-09 Habitat Build Report
A great time of service and fellowship was had by all as you can tell by the pictures. As is typical with Habitat builds we did not do the drywall as we had expected. The house was not ready for drywall, so they moved us to a house that was ready for framing (my personal favorite). Nothing like showing up with a bare slab and leaving with a framed house. Neat.
Sorry for the poor quality of the pictures. My digital camera died and I had to use my phone camera. Nuff said.Organized chaos...less like Amish barn raising, and more like Keystone cops build a house. Good times!
HEAVE HOE!!!
Its starting to look like a house!Hank Hills got nothin on the guys.
The happy, grateful home owner. This is what "building the walls" of our city is all about. This is the only way she and her family has of owning a home. Something many of us take for granted is out of reach for many Americans. Today we helped put the "American Dream" within reach of this woman and her family. Jesus tells us that when we do things like this we are not doing it for her, but for Him. So today we built a house for this woman, but really we built a house for Jesus. And He promises us that He will never forget that.
Thanks guys. Hope to see you all back at the next build day: 04-18-09. Put it on your calendar.

Habitat for Humanity
Hello gang!

The third Saturday of the month is quickly approaching. I have spoke with Habitat coordinator Steve and he mentioned that we will work with Erich again on a home remodel. Habitat calls this A Brush With Kindness by the way. I do not have an address as of yet but will pass it along next week. I look forward to working with our group for this time of fellowship and kindness. Hope to see you there!

Have a blessed week!

A Great Example of Wall Building
As we endeavor to build the walls of our city, I think it is great to celebrate the efforts of our neighbors as they do the same. May every story be like this one...

Missional Opportunities Postng for the Week of: March, 8th, 2009
- March 21st, 2009 (9am-3pm): Habitat for Humanity.
We will either be assisting in the building of a new home, or helping make repairs of updates of an existing home for people (usually the elderly) who are unable to keep up with their own home's maintenance. Council Road Baptist Church has a team that does this every third Saturday of each month. Email Andy Zook (aczook@yahoo.com) for details.
- Change for Change:
The Bridgebuilder's connection class at Council Road Baptist church is collecting loose change to fund future "wall building" opportunities (either in OKC or another city on the planet).
